Dear Managers, Coaches and Parents:
Believe it or not it is time to register for the 2008 season. There will be a manager’s meeting on December 5, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the Manchester American Legion Hall.
Based on your feedback, we will once again have team registration & a concession duty buyout option. The buyout option is simple. If a family does not wish to work in the concession stand, they pay $100.00. This one payment exempts parents from concession stand duty for ALL their children. The buyout payment MUST be paid at the time of registration. For those families who not want to pay the fee, they will have 1 work duty per child as in years pas t.
Attached to this message are a MAA registration form and 2008 Registration Procedures. We encourage you to register early so that we may complete the planning for the 2008 season as early as possible. Those teams that register in December will be eligible to pick their concession duty dates. Those that register in January or later will be ASSIGNED their dates. If you have any questions, they can be answered at the manager’s meeting or check our web site at www.maapark.org .
Registration dates and times are as follows:
1. Teams ONLY – Saturday, December 8, 2007 and Saturday, January 5, 2008 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the MAA “White House”;
2. Teams and Individuals – Saturday, January 12, 2008 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Manchester American Legion;
3. Individual Late Registration – Saturday, January 26, 2006 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Manchester American Legion.
The procedure for team registration only requires you to submit a list of players, along with the required fees, using the enclosed form at the time of registration. A copy of this form will be made and the original returned to you. The final MAA roster form, along with a County Athletic roster and any additional fees, are due & must be turned in on or before the home game scheduling meetings on February 23, 2008.
The Board of Directors works hard to provide you and your children with a fun, safe and low cost summer of baseball and softball. For 2008 we are pleased to announce that registration fees will not be increased. The only increase in fees for 2008 is a $10.00 per family increase in the concession duty buyout fee.
The Board of Directors also wishes to address some rumors that you may have heard. We want to assure you that MAA is not for sale; that no one has approached us about buying the facility; and that under no circumstances would we agree to a sale or closing of the MAA facilities. The Board strongly believes that the children and families of Manchester and the surrounding area need safe and fun recreational opportunities far more than another place to shop or eat.
The Board thanks you for all of your efforts on behalf of the children of our community. We’ll see you at the manager’s meeting.
Sincerely,
Manchester Athletic Association
Board of Directors
